Jewel

Your parting has chased happiness away;
Hiding inside admist a sea of black and gray;

Unexpectedly to me do you return;
The sea begins to flow and churn;

A wanting glance stirs the monochrome sea;
Happiness caught in the current and unable to flee;

The endless depths begin to empty and wain;
Emptying the pit of hate and disdain;

Finally breaking the surface of this black pool;
Reflecting light like a radiant jewel;

Unable to be supressed any longer;
Its size increases and grows stronger;

Displacing unhappy thoughts and melancholy;
It feeds its bearer's joy and loving folly;

Fed by loving and caring company;
It radiates outward for all to see;

It shines its brightest in the light;
Radiating from your heart so bright;

The dark and ominous pool completely drained;
Replaced with the sea of love its gained;

Unhappiness here no longer does stay;
Since you have came along the way;

Your radiant company do I hope to keep;
And the rewards do I hope to reap;
