At The Edge

He takes a deep breath and comes closer to the edge than ever before. He wants to take the plunge and delve into the depths of her mind and soul. He cannot help but think to himself about the taboo nature of the edge he intends to cross. He patiently awaits the right time to present itself so he may jump. He knows deep inside that the illustrious and beaming pool is worth it.

He knows there is no going back once he crosses that edge. Somehow his instincts tell him that everything will turn out just fine, and his instints have always served him well in the past. His only concern is whether or not the person on the other side is comfortable with his crossing of the line that seperates them.

Confounded by the current situation, he still waits patiently at the edge. He does not want to betray his heart, yet he does not want to make waves. If only they had met in some other fashion, then he would not consider it such a gamble. The question is not whether he will roll the dice, but when he will actually do it.
