Courtship

A flowery meadow sits next to a forest. Amidst the flowers rustles a muster of peacocks. The sun sits high in the sky and reigns its beams upon the meadow below.

The dominant male tries to gain the attention of a female that caught his eyes. His large and illustrious plumage shines brightly in the sun. He struts with confidence as he walks through the group. As he makes several passes by her, he flaunts his bright and striking feathers.

The female fails to take notice of his finer qualities. She fears crossing the line with him and opts for being coy. Her head turns and looks away from him. The thought of being mate to her superior is too much for her to bear.

He takes a more direct approach. As he confronts her, he gently rubs her as a gesture of comfort. The approach seems to be more effective as she seems to be more responsive. A sign that she is warming up to him and no longer concerned with position or social status.

The two rub their heads against one another. The warmth of her body as she brushes against his. He screeches slightly as if to ask her out. She tries to play coy at first, but she cannot hold back any longer. She accepts his offer and the two retreat to the forest out of view.
