A predator quietly creeps amidst the grass to hide his intentions from its prey. Slowly and steadily the hunter stalks from a distance. Never does it ever takes his eyes from his intended recipient.
The prey unknowingly continues her daily business not knowing what will ensue. Her head darts around every now and then to check the surrounding area. Seeing that everything is seemingly fine, she lowers her head gracefully to the water's surface to drink. The prey quickly raises her head from the water and looks around again. Did she receive the unsettling chill through her spine from knowing someone is gazing upon her?
As the predator closes in on his victim and finally gets close enough to make the sprint towards his goal, the prey takes off and leaves him in the dust. The predator lets out a brief sigh and lays back down under a tree. For a second his heart sinks in its chest, but it realizes something laying there.
The prey is bound to return and he will get another chance to pursue her. Hunting is all about tactics and patience. Good use of the two will ensure success eventually. Maybe you do not always get the trophy you were seeking, but something will always be better than nothing.
Perhaps she knowingly puts herself in such situations because she likes the chase. The thrill of being wanted and watched by wanting eyes. The thought that her presence excites him and arouses his attention.
Such thoughts do stir in lovers' hearts as they wait patiently in the shade for their prey to return and the hunt to resume.
