Shallow Love

If you love someone's heart,
The rest is but a wrapper.
Love from within at the start,
And the outside will not matter.

You cannot truly love with your eyes
No matter how hard you try.
Love must come from within,
For anything else is a sin.

If you love with your eyes at first,
Nothing will quench true love's thirst.
Instead, I say, love them for their heart,
And true love may blossom from the start.

If one's relationship were a boat
And true love was the water,
The boat atop shallow seas
Will run aground and falter.

But if the love is true and deep,
Your relationship will surely keep.
Shallow love stems from shallow thinking,
Change course now or keep on skinking.

A Fool's Dream

She crossed his path like so many do each and every day. He did not give it much thought at first, yet ever day the two became closer and closer. It was as if fate itself had destined the two to be together.

Somewhere along the way, a veil lifted from his eyes and he began to see her in a different light. A strange realization indeed that he did try to ignore at first thinking himself a fool. He tried to distract himself from such foolish thinking.

Yet each day his heart did grow fonder and fonder for her. She had come to mean so very much to him as a friend. The thought of losing her friendship was unbearable to him. Somehow he thought deep within his mind that their relationship was destined for something more and that friendship was but a mere stepping-stone.

He buried these thoughts within himself or so he tried, but apparently they were buried shallowly. He made a conscience decision to not act on his impulses; for a kiss between the two would surely seal his fate. If she did not feel the same, then he would have lost the most amazing person in his life, or at least made things stranger between them.

Talking with her does little more than compel him to wait for when the time is right, yet part of him still feels foolish in thinking such a thing. The fact that she too had such ideas only reinforces his wanting of her. The only time his life feels harmonious anymore is with her by his side.

He tries desperately to make sense of his feelings but there is no use. Lust would be an easy impulse to dispose of quickly, but a feeling such as this surmounts any other. It takes hold of his entire person and he quickly begins to feel very confused about things. One’s mind can be changed easily if one feels it necessary, but to change one’s heart is impossible.

He tries to look at other women, but they have lost all their appeal. They all seem as if they are but shallow and devoid of depth. Their lack of intelligence only confounds things further. A head filled with rocks simply will not cut the muster.

He no longer knows how to proceed. The only thing he is sure of anymore is of how he feels for her. Each time he sees her his head is filled with thoughts of warm embraces and an endless array of kisses. He loves her for who she is despite all the differences they may have.

His heart seems dead-set on her and his mind only reinforces such thoughts. Since both seem to be in such agreement, he has no choice but to follow his heart and mind. He knows he could live the rest of his life without her, but he just doesn’t want to do so… He knows all too well that every woman from this point on would just not measure up.

He is not sure how they months ahead will unfold. He keeps thinking to himself that this love he feels manifested itself for some reason. He knows that the only thing that will put out a flame such as this is a violent stomping out for there is no lack of love to fuel the fire.

The Dream Continues...

A strange yet familiar visitor,
Visits him again as he sleeps
Not knowing what will occur,
Or what benefits he might reap.

Unlike any dream of her before,
I did not know what was in store,
Or how the dream would pan out,
Leaving unto me a sense of doubt.

All doubt removed with the first kiss,
Nothing short of absolute bliss,
Though it was fairly awkward at first,
It did seem to fill a mutual thirst.

A second kiss fills the desire for another,
But being not quite like any other,
The warmth and passion shared ‘tween,
Setting them up for the next scene.

His hands roaming and hers alike,
Creating an adrenaline spike,
Both hearts racing one another,
Embracing their gentle smother.

The mixing of their fluids and flesh,
The warmth of their lengthy mesh,
Lasting until the breaking of dawn,
And the dream was then long gone.

Reoccuring Dream

Stretched out upon the grass
Beneath the starry skies
The moments slowly pass
As I gaze into her eyes

The meeting of our lips
With eyes tightly closed
The warmth of her breath
And meeting of our souls

He devours and slowly savors
The sweetness of her taste
The amassment of many flavors
And not one gone to waste

The coupling of skin upon skin
Lasting for a lengthy period of time
The slow building of intensity within
And eventual descent from the climb

Then, as suddenly as it began
It all comes to its end
The hazel-eyed maiden departed
And the day has come again

A Reason For Being Thankful

She sets free the longtime prisoner from his entombment. Placed there long ago by an evil tyrant. He did not want to see his inner child hurt any longer by the cruelty found in the world. Sealing him in this musty tomb with the greatest of intentions.

His ghastly shackles cast away with a single act of kindness. The light pains his eyes, but she leads him back into the light for the entire world to see. Taking him into her caring bosom, she nurses him slowly back to health. He finds safety and comfort in her care.

Soft whispers and kind words ease the pain from old wounds. The scars remain upon him, yet he finally resembles the person he once was again. A person he thought was lost long ago, yet she somehow drew him out again.

For her acts of kindness, he would do anything within his power. The tools given to him by birth and through diligent practice are hers for the taking. He tries to help her in everyway possible on a daily basis. His comfort comes at a distant second to her happiness.

Not a day goes by that he is not thankful for her presence. He feels so very alive when he is around her. She marks the best thing that has happened to him in a long time. Her presence alone forces him to believe that there must be such a thing as karma, and she is his reward for always trying to help others.

His only wish for the upcoming year is that it is one filled with her presence. It marks the first year in a long time for which he has looked forward to its arrival. The dawn of the new year is closing in upon him, and he finally has a reason to celebrate its passing and be thankful.

Impossible Dream

He has unknowingly fell under her spell. Cast upon him by a flash of the most beautiful hazel eyes in existence. The blood ebbs and flows through his veins as his heart beats increasingly faster. His body responds accordingly and the sweat begins to accumulate on his palms. His mind races and finds it hard to concentrate on anything.

He wants nothing in this world more than to hold her body close to his and kiss her lips. To breathe in deeply and smell the sweet scent of her hair. The unrelenting desire to get closer to her and feel the warmth from her body. The feeling overcomes him every time he is in her presence. The proximity between them directly proportional to the happiness he experiences.

He hates the idea of jealousy, but he cannot help but feel it when other men command her attention and distract her from him. To be the object of her affection and desires is the only thing he can think of at the moment. He struggles to garner her attention with his futile amusements. Not a day passes without him trying to bring a smile to her face and a few seconds of joy to her mind. Her happiness becomes his sole purpose.

The reality of the situation finally commands his attention and his heart sinks in his chest. A sadness overcomes that would bring a weaker man to tears. He knows that such a thing is impossible and that there is no future for such ideas. To think of such a thing is nothing more than a fantasy that can never be realized. An impossible dream created by the mind of a romantic fool which will never exist.

He closes his eyes briefly and dreams of her as he falls asleep. If this is the only realm where they may be together, then he wishes he could stay asleep forever. However, he knows that this is impossible, but he finds comfort in knowing that they can be together each time he closes his eyes.

Unique

She is the friend I have sought out throughout the course of my brief lifetime. I found in her a friend that I did not think possible to exist except in books of fantasy. A kindred spirit and kind soul who never ceases to amaze me with the warmth and capacity of her heart.

She has given me the courage to unveil more of myself to the world than I ever thought possible. The only person in the entire world with which I find it comfortable sharing the entirety of my person. Finding comfort enough within her presence enough to share all my heart, mind, and soul.

I could search for an eternity and never find someone that could even come close. Millions and millions of hours would never turn up another individual with such a warming smile or wonderful heart. I shall not even attempt such a search for it would inherently be in vain.

Cemented Bonds

Love, like any structure, requires a strong foundation from which to build. Not a stronger foundation exists for such a complex structure than that of friendship. A cemented bond between two individuals made by an outpouring of trust and understanding. Developing a level of rapport and caring between two separate souls.

Without such a strong foundation, the structure would collapse upon itself and fall under its own weight. Love cannot truly exist without a concrete element like that of trust. It gives strength and reinforces all that is built upon it. The prerequisite that is required for any relationship.

Attraction is the catalyst, which prompts such an undertaking and drives its early undertakings. The drive may be great and overwhelming, but the structure cannot be built upon a foundation of loose sand. Loose bonds undermine the great effort required to architect love's plan and cause it to fail in its early infancy.

The construction of any type of relationship is a risky proposition. One commits their blood, sweat, and tears to its development not knowing the outcome. Never knowing if their structure will withstand the outside forces life throws at it. The only test for such a thing is that of time. Laboring each day towards its reinforcement and upkeep.

The risk between friends is not as great as one might think at first sight. The concrete foundation of friendship would still remain even if the structure were to collapse upon itself or never even get off the ground. The two would walk away with some happy memories and a better understanding of each no matter what the outcome. It is an ample reward for a small amount of labor and a slight gamble in my opinion.

A Living Dream

You walk into a room and everyone feels your presence. A bright and shining light flashes before them and catches their attention. The crowd hushes and becomes quiet at the first glimpse of you. They hold their breath and long to hear you speak so they know you are not a figment of their imagination. They quietly pinch themselves to make sure they are not dreaming.

The men vainly daydream of being with you and part of your life. The women grow green with envy, as they can never hope to be half as beautiful as you. Everyone wanting to possess whatever it is that you have that makes you so overtly attractive. A magnetic presence, which draws others to you everywhere you go.

Words slip past your lips and beckon those around you to come closer. You draw them in with a personality that creates friendliness and warm feelings in all those you meet. They love being in your presence and long for it when they are without.

The room becomes darker when you leave and grows colder in your absence. You continue to encircle the minds of the men in the room. None have ever seen something so beautiful and cannot until you grace them with your presence again. Not even imagination could prove itself a suitable substitute for someone as beautiful as you.

A Fairy Sculpture

A perfect work of art sculpted of flesh and blood with much care. Brought to life by the beating of the kindest heart of any person I have met in my entire life. A unique and divine creation that does not compare to any other.

Not a single person has ever or will ever fit the mould of such a sculpture. She belongs upon a pedestal bathed in a bright, illustrious light. The spotlight belongs to her and her alone.

She transfers her beauty into artistic creations of her own. Their beauty stands out almost as much as her own does. Worthy of being in a gallery for others to admire as much as others admire her own beauty.

Her own beauty transcends the boundaries of being merely cute. Not a single word could sum up such a creation or even touch the surface of describing her. You cannot know the true definition of enchanting until you have seen her or been fortunate enough to speak with her.

Bottled Up

If I could find a bottle large enough, I would gladly crawl inside. Glass black enough to block the sunlight from entering. Corked up and hidden from the outside world and its inhabitants.

Liquid medicine to fill the deep void within my chest. Soothing my aching heart and cleansing it of its loneliness. Washing out the dirt from the open wounds in its tender flesh.

However, I fear I know no relief can be found by filling yourself by artificial means. The loneliness growing constantly as it feeds upon the ingested alcohol. That alone feeling which you seek to end only intensifies.

Woman Of My Dreams

She is the woman who haunts me in my dreams. The loving apparition whose beautiful, brown eyes I cannot resist. A glance from them puts my mind to rest and makes my heart beat faster.

We dance together in playful merriment. There is no music to be heard, yet we still embrace each other to dance. I cannot tell if other people are in my dreams for my focus is on her and her alone.

She kisses my lips gently and runs her fingers through my hair. Our bodies warming each other with their close proximity. A sense of joy rushing through my dormant mind.

Time seems to slow down or stop completely when we are together. All good things must come to an end, but my mind tries in vain to prolong these dreams. It knows that with reality comes the sense of longing my heart so desperately tries to fulfill.

As my eyes open, they are greeted by the harshness of reality. The fair and radiant maiden is no longer in my presence. I see her almost everyday in reality, yet we lack the closeness and proximity my heart desires most.

The fact that I do not know her feelings towards me weighs most heavily on my mind. The time between when we part and meet again is spent deep in thought. My dreams provide some relief, yet they cannot possibly do her beauty any justice.

To get to know you better is all I ask. My heart and mind are rarely in agreement, yet they are both completely taken by you. Completely and utterly enthralled by your aura and accumen.

Place your mind aside for a moment and listen to your heart. If you can honestly say there are no feelings toward me, then tell me so now and put my mind to rest. Allow me to turn away my heart and feel this longing no longer.

However, if you do feel anything in the slightest, I shall wait until I might have the opportunity to nuture such feelings. To water them with my trust and loyalty so they may flourish and blossom. To woo you with my charm and wit so that you may know that gentlemen still do exist in a world filled with vultures. Even if that means having to wait until I do not see you everyday.

A Final Request

He thought that they would be the perfect match;
And considered her to be quite the catch;

Fitting all of the qualities he seeks in a girl;
Finally finding inside of a clam his pearl;

He thought he fit what she is seeking too;
And why not is all he wished he knew;

Her very own Prince Charming if she would only allow him;
Of a chivalrous nature who would cater to her every reasonable whim;

A man of intelligence and sense of self;
Who has many good qualities upon his shelf;

He would constantly take her to operas, museums, and movies;
Take her out to eat and afterwards for ice cream or smoothies;

Treating her every day with the upmost respect;
And trusting her without doubt in every aspect;

With her he might finally find companionship;
The stone off his heart she might finally chip;

Giving him cause to writes poems of an epic nature;
A burning desire to create for which there is no cure;

His heart making a final outcry to her;
Wanting inside only to know for sure;

Is is pointless for me to ask you out again?
Even if it's just as friends?

Tell me so I will at least know,
Whether that answer be yes or no,
and why exactly you feel so;
